So, it’s important to learn how to work with it because it’s never going away.

How many times in your life has fear kept you from going for something you desire…5, 10, 50, 100?
Bring to mind a time in this last week when fear has bubbled up and held you back, kept you quiet, or kept you small?
Usually this is how it goes….
You have a desire.
You start to get excited. You believe that you can do it or get it.
Then BAM. Your mind starts racing about the all the logistics, about how much it’s going to cost, about how many steps it’s going to take to get there AND THE SHUT DOWN BEGINS AND THE DESIRE DECREASES.
Sometimes it takes 5 seconds. Sometimes 5 minutes. Sometimes 30 minutes. However, at some point the fear creeps in and the shut down happens.
The fear creeps in and shut down occurs for a couple of reasons.
You start thinking about your past experiences… failures, people who have told you you’re not smart enough, the limited amount of money in your bank account.
You may also think too far in the future about all the steps it takes to get you where you want to get.
Both of these flooded my mind when I was in the process of buying a barn in Santa Fe that would become my future home.

What you need to know, though, are that BOTH ARE BULLSHIT!
The past does not dictate your future, and you have no idea what will happen in the future. It’s just a projection or a guess.
So, the only fear that really matters is the fear that arises when you’re truly in danger. The fear that you need for fight or flight.
Otherwise, fear NEVER means that you should say NO to your desire. It’s just helping to move back to your true path. It is just information letting you know you’re not aligned with your higher self.
So, there are 2 ways to reduce the fear.
The first is to stay in the desire for as long as you can, and when the fear creeps in, try to tune back into the desire. Desire is source speaking through you, so this is when you are aligned and connected to your higher self.
The second is used when you become fearful about all of the steps it’s going to take to attain your desire. If this happens I invite you to break your large goal up into digestible sized pieces. This will help you to stay in the desire and reduce the fear.
This is a lifelong practice because like I said before, fear is a part of your human existence. Especially if you are on a journey of personal growth.
Be aware of it and know what kind of fear you are feeling. Knowing that will tell you how to work with it.
