Welcome to Badass Soul session #8
This week’s session is about how to start raising your vibration when you’re having a shitty day!
It is extremely important to have ways that you can help yourself climb out of a shitty day or a bad mood because you are going to have these days!!
It’s very easy to get stuck in a habitual pattern of feeling lousy, so I want to share with you 10 ways that you can use on a regular basis to shift your vibration, to shift your emotional state, and move up on the emotional scale.

In my opinion, this is absolutely the number one secret sauce of shifting your vibration. There are many studies that show that meditation helps to lift your mood. Meditation enables you to move from higher frequency brain waves to lower frequency, which activates different centers in the brain. The lower the frequency, the more space between thoughts and the the more calm, peaceful and joyful you feel.
In your everyday life, when you’re not focusing on anything in particular, your mind enters into its Default Mode Network (DMN), otherwise know as monkey mind. And, when you’re deep in monkey mind, you normally don;t have feeling of peace and calm and joy.
When you meditate, you exit the DMN and begin building new connections in the brain. The more you meditate, the more quickly you can snap yourself out of monkey mind.
So, meditation is an amazing way to move from your head to your heart and connect to universal energy and feel like you’re not alone. It helps to lift your mood and increase your vibration.
It is important to pay attention to your breath because when you’re not feeling good, it’s one of the first things to be effected. You make hold it or take shallow breaths or quick breaths.
You can shift your mood by shifting your breath.
First, bring awareness to your breath. Then take deep, slow, and regular breaths. This calms your nervous system down, and in turn, helps you to feel calm and peaceful.
More oxygen = more energy = higher vibration.
3. Enjoy the Sun
There is a lot of talk about avoiding the sun; however, you NEED the sun because it increases your serotonin levels, which is your happy hormone. In addition, it increases your vitamin D, which impacts your mood and sleep.
If you have sensitive skin or need to be careful in about being directly in the sun then the best time to enjoy the sun is within a couple of hours just after sunrise and or before sunset because the rays aren’t as strong, but you’re still receiving the benefits of the sun.
4. Go Outside a Be With Nature
Get outside and put your feet on the earth. Connect with nature. Connect with the plants and the animals. Go outside without your phone, without your headphones on, and listen to the sounds of nature.
Nature helps you to feel grounded and help to remind you that you are connected to something greater. You are not alone. When you are outside, you begin to sync with the natural rhythm of the universe and this raises your vibration.
5. Exercise / Move
Movement is the fastest way to change your emotional state. If you are feeling shitty, get off the couch and MOVE!
Turn some music on and dance around your house. Get a little trampoline and jump on it. Go for a run. Practice yoga. Do something to get the blood flowing and to move your body. When you have the ability to exercise or move your body, it literally changes your emotional state almost immediately.
If you have challenges with movement, do as much as you physically can, any amount helps. Even just intentionally moving your breath helps.
Our culture has become very sedentary, especially with the amount we sit in front of technology. A great tip is to set an alarm that reminds you to get up and move for a few minutes. It will change your energetic state and raise your vibration.
6. Drink Water
Drinking water through the day is often something you can often forget about, but your body needs propoer hydration in order for it to function properly. Water acts as a building block, helps to increase the blood flow, a solvent for chemical reactions, and transports nutrients and waste.
Most of us are chronically dehydrated, but if you start increasing your water intake you will notice a difference in your mood.
7. Eat Well
You are what you eat. Just like an expensive, luxury car, your brain functions best on premium fuel.
Reduce your intake of sugar, processed, highly acidic, and fried foods.
When you don;t feed your body well, it has to expend a great deal of energy breaking that food down and expelling toxins. That is energy you could use elsewhere – energy to feel good and raise you vibration.
All the foods that you eat has a vibration. If you’re putting low vibration food into your body, then you are going to have a low vibration.
If you are eating high vibe, living food into your body, that’s going to give you energy and increase your vibration.
Play around and see what foods help you to feel the best!
Clear out the things that no longer serve you because that creates space to allow what you want to come in.
Getting rid of the old allows room for the new.
Honestly, it feels so good!!!
I can’t stress this enough!
There are so many reasons why you should intentionally unplug,
- It improves productivity
- It helps you sleep
- It allows for healthier and more connected relationships
- It improves communication
- It gives you more free time to do thing that make you happy
- It helps to not focus on others and what you don’t have
All of those help to increase your vibration
10. Rampage of appreciation
When you’re having a shitty day, you tend to spend even more time in monkey mind and when you’re in that place it’s often challenging to see the sunny side of the street.
So, the best way to shift your lens is to is to think of things you appreciate. When you are in that place of appreciation and gratitude, it’s almost impossible to be in the doom and gloom.
Naturally, it raises our vibration. You start to feel better when you think about all of the amazing things and people that are in your life.
So, the first step is to check in with yourself and be aware of where you are on the emotional scale. If you aren’t where you want to be then try one of these 10 things.
Your goal should be to just feel A LITTLE BIT BETTER than you do right now. Don’t expect to go from feeling like shit to feeling amazing.
You do have to do something though! You have to be proactive. You can’t just sit around and say, “Man, I hope I feel better today.” You actually have to do something about it.
